Beer Tap Decals

  Decal was a craze mania in the late 19th century. At that time, the term ‘decal’ refers to the mass-produced art transfer. As a manufactured product, it consisted of the artwork printed on the upper side of a release paper or film backing stock, temporarily affixed by a typically water or heat soluble adhesive. Decals are produced, shipped, and stored in this composite state. When applied, only the adhesive-backed artwork remains, affixed to its desired substrate. The term- ‘decal’ is a colloquial use of the word- ‘decalcomania’ which refers to the technique by which engravings and prints are transferred onto another material like pottery, glass, ceramic, metal, and other fine smooth surfaces.
